ArchLIGHT Summit Welcomes International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and Other Significant Partners to 4th Annual Event

DALLAS – July 15, 2024 - ArchLIGHT Summit, the annual lighting trade event and educational platform for the architectural, specification, and design communities, welcomes the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) as a new association partner, joining a distinguished list of association partners, agency partners, media partners, and sponsors. The two-day trade event running September 17-18 at Dallas Market Center offers attendees dozens of exhibiting companies and a robust schedule of CEU programming, immersive experiences, and hospitality events.

The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) is an internationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to supporting lighting design professionals worldwide. The IALD works in partnership with the IALD Education Trust, a separately incorporated non-profit entity that directly supports educators and students in promoting the study of architectural lighting design.

“This new association partnership with the IALD will further expand our audience of lighting designers and industry reach to experience ArchLIGHT Summit and the Dallas Market Center,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “IALD is a trusted and leading association within the lighting community, and we value this partnership as we join forces to support the growth, education, and exposure of the lighting design profession.”

Registration for the ArchLIGHT Summit expo is complimentary, and a flat fee of $50 allows access to a versatile choice of AIA and IDCEC-accredited educational opportunities. With guidance from an Advisory Board of experts representing different disciplines, these sessions encompass a variety of topics beyond lighting application, as well as interactive workshops and dynamic demonstrations.

Current IALD President, Andrea Hartranft, FIALD, Principal of Hartranft Lighting Design, will present “Sweet Home IALD” on Wednesday on the Light Bites stage to talk about industry associations and how the work of these organizations impacts the profession of lighting design and the wider lighting industry.

ArchLIGHT Summit continues to support the IALD Education Trust with unique programming and fundraising opportunities during the two-day event. The IALD Education Trust supports students and educators and promotes the profession of architectural lighting design.

During this year’s event, key sessions are targeted to support and educate students attending local universities and STEM programs to provide exposure to the design-build community. IALD Education Trust President and Principal of Dark Light Design, Jill Cody, IALD, CLD, will host a session for all students attending on Wednesday called “So You Want to Be a Lighting Designer?”. In addition, ArchLIGHT Summit participating exhibitors can support the Trust with donations for each scan that an attendee makes at their respective booth.

"The IALD partners with ArchLIGHT to bring together a vast community of lighting experts to collaborate and share knowledge on a grander scale. By attracting lighting designers at all stages of their careers, the Association's involvement can bolster invaluable networking opportunities, enrich the collective experience, and ultimately drive progress within the industry," said Christopher Knowlton, Chief Executive Officer, IALD.

Other new association partners include Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals (AOLP),

International Landscape Lighting Institute (ILLI), and The National Association of Women in Construction. New media partners include Bisnow and D5 Design Magazine.

Official event sponsors include Casambi, Visa Lighting, Zumtobel, Luminii, Sourcery, and The Lighting Exchange. Official Agency Partners include: ALA, Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions, NexGen, Preferred Lighting Group and Texas Lighting Solutions.
